We are continuing our look at the Holy Spirit this week.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, a person, not a thing, but so often misunderstood.
The Holy Spirit is often described in metaphors, as wind, as tongues of flame, as power, as oil; He is the way that we experience the presence of God.
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate,
to be with you for ever.
17This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive,
because it neither sees him nor knows him.
But you know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you.” John 14:16-17
We can know him, if we open up our hearts, but we have to know how to do this, we will continue to explore this together up to Pentecost.
This is a family service today, but don’t think the message is simple. We can all learn to draw closer to God.
Sometimes though we have to have open hearts like children to receive the deepest truths in life…
