The Wulfric Benefice consists of the Market town of Crewkerne with the surrounding villages.
St Bartholomew’s Church in Crewkerne is the largest church in the Benefice, it has a majestic primarily C15th church building with a healthy congregation, excellent Music Director and robed choir. The PCC are committed to growth and following the start of a visioning process have recently put in a new structure and teams (rather than committees) to make progress on reaching out in mission and reconnecting with the youth and children in the town. There are 5 VC church schools in the Benefice, 4 primary and Wadham Academy. St Bartholomew’s also heads up the town’s very successful Messy Church which was launched by the Churches together about 4 years ago.
St Michael and All Angels in Haselbury Plucknett is the next largest congregation, and has family services once a month and a bi monthly Sunday school.
The other churches are: St Leonard’s in Misterton, St Martin’s in North Perrott, St Michael and All Angels in Wayford and the Church of the Good Shepherd in Hewish which all have at least two services a month.
The Wulfric Benefice is in the Church of England Diocese of Bath and Wells.
